Ponder the Pear

Spring brings new life...and sometimes life goes on without the people who were a very important part of it.  As many of you know I lost my beloved grandfather earlier this year... and with that great loss came many moments of pondering.

It was when I was taking photos of a custom order for Anjou Pears that I realized how the unique shape and color of an Anjou pear represents how different each of us is and how we all have the potential to leave an imprint on others lives in some small way, and if we are lucky in a profound way ... even if we do not realize it at the time.

There are only ten minutes in the life of a pear when it is perfect to eat
                          Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Anjou Pear board below was created as a custom order for a customer who gifted this to a friend that grows these particular pears in her garden. The end result was two jars of Preserved Anjou Pears with Cinnamon Sticks & Mulling Spices infused with Bay Leaves presented with toasted biscuits and blackberry infused cheesecake pats, served alongside blueberry compote and blue cheese crumbles.  A perfect afternoon snack to share with a friend or to enjoy on a solitary afternoon spent pondering...

  1. Hi Jennifer! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! These pears were a HIT! :D My friend Janine who was the intended recipient, was Delighted with them and especially with the story surrounding them. I do believe that the objects that we cherish most in our lives, are those which we have come to associate with the people that we love and cherish. You have experienced that with your beloved grandfather, and I know that this has been true for me too.
I enjoyed the entire experience and the exchanges, that helped to realize this Custom Order for Janine, and know that I will be doing business with you again in the future. :D
    TWO THUMBS WAY UP! :D

Your words to me following the passing of my grandfather were a great comfort...I truly believe as I have mentioned in this blog post that we have the potential to leave an imprint on others lives; you certainly left a lasting imprint on mine with your words of wisdom. All the best...
