The Teahouse and Pantry

My vision when I started collecting miniatures was to create an imaginary place where one could browse to the heart's content for that something special for the miniature kitchen and pantry.    A place where one could buy jars of fruit made lovingly from fruits in season, touch the soft and inviting pattern of tea towels that would look so perfect on one's own pantry shelf or prep area, or custom order a coordinating knife or flatware set from any number of patterns and colors...

An open space where two separate areas would flow as one. The "Pantry" where two friends could spend an afternoon browsing through items on the shelves, and then sit together afterward sipping specialty coffee and tasting beautiful desserts  in the "TeaHouse".  A cafe with charm. A little hideaway from the everyday,  where one could purchase freshly baked artisan breads, specialty preserves and olive oils, or old fashioned garlicky dill pickles.  A place called the TeaHouse and Pantry at WindyPoint...

All of the items that I make can be found in my Etsy store WindyPointMiniatures.  If you see something that you like and it is not available in my Etsy store feel free to email me; I can make every attempt to create a custom order for you.

This post is dedicated to a young girl who sees the world everyday through eyes bursting with a sense of wonder and anticipation;  I think this is perhaps what we all enjoy about the world of miniatures.  For Abby...

In Celebration of Other Miniature Artisans

Tonight I finally finished the prep area of my Pantry and Teahouse.  As I was arranging everything into place, I was inspired to write a post about all of the wonderful miniature artisans out there and the talent that each one brings to a scene or a dollhouse.  I was inspired by so many talented artisans as I collected pieces for my Teahouse and Pantry over the last year.  When I look at how all of those pieces make up the whole of the vision I had, I am awed by the creativity that miniature artisans bring to the table. I thought that you would like to take a peak inside the first part of this vision that I had - the prep area of my Teahouse.  To me it is like looking at all of my "miniature friends" gathered in one place.

I feel so fortunate to have found my way into this miniature world, and I feel even more fortunate that many of these miniature artisans that I have admired over the last year have become my friends.  Thank you to those who follow my blog; you have become new friends in this miniature world too and I love reading your comments - I am honored that you take the time to read through my posts and leave comments. It brings me a lot of joy, so thank you. I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Thank you to all of the artisans whose creations found a place in my Teahouse and Pantry; you have all inspired me and added something special to this journey. Susi at MiniEdenTienda, Eve at AfterDarkAfterAll, Maria Jose and Monica @LugartPetit, Carlotta at Cinen, Eva at MiniaturasdeEva, Flora@FloraDollhouse, Adriana@Bagus, Ana@Mundorosa, Erzabet@HungarianMiniatures, Lory @ 64tnt, Mariarita@minimariba, Ana@Mundorosa.  If I have forgotten anyone, I apologize.

Kitchen Counter Art

As many of you know who follow my blog, I love anything that is beautifully preserved in glass, and can be used to decorate a kitchen counter with. This week I used various shapes of glass jars that I had on hand and created a number of Preserved Fruits.  I thought it would be cute to add a spoon to a few of the jars to scoop the fruit with from my luxury flatware line.  I tried to create a spoon that would complement the jar of fruit and attempted to create something that looked like kitchen counter art.

After I finished the Preserved Fruits, I thought that it would be cute to make sets of tea towels for the kitchen with little spoons ready to be used in the miniature kitchen.  This is what I came up with.
