Memories of a Summer Cabinet

Summers with my grandmother at the lake cabin is where I spent weeks on end as a child.  Her cabinets would be full of all of the goodies that she knew that my sister and brother, and I loved.  To this day I still love the look of an old clapboard cupboard as it reminds me of that cabinet at the lake from my childhood filled with special treats, favorite mugs, pink lemonade in long forgotten vintage bottles and beautiful tiny details utilized to pull it all together.  This cabinet captures all that my summers at the lake with my grandmother meant to me. If I could have my grandmother over for tea in my miniature world, this is where we would find the mugs...

This post is dedicated to my late grandmother and to all of the grandmothers out there who make a day or a summer in the life a child so very special...

  1. Beautiful! I mean your minis and what you've written. I also remember my grandma's dresser - old, thickly covered with white paint, with green textured panes in the upper door and that smell... Amazing smell of black currant home-made very sweet jam...
Your cabinet is magical! It brings memories not just for you but also for me, although we're in such different parts of the world :)
