The Teahouse and Pantry

My vision when I started collecting miniatures was to create an imaginary place where one could find that something special for the miniature kitchen and pantry -  jars of fruit made lovingly from fruits in season, soft and inviting patterned tea towels or coordinating kitchen utensils and flatware sets.

All of the items that I make can be found in my Etsy store WindyPointMiniatures when available.  If you see something that you like and it is not available in my Etsy store feel free to email me; I can make every attempt to create a custom order for you.

This post is dedicated to a young girl who sees the world everyday through eyes bursting with a sense of wonder and anticipation;  I think this is perhaps what I enjoy most about the world of miniatures.  For Abby...

Kitchen Counter Art

Beautifully preserved in glass jars of varying sizes, fruits can be used to decorate a kitchen counter in any season.

Preserved fruit in all its bounty can turn into something pretty to add to a counter space or a special place on a shelf.

Artisan Country Breads

There is nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the house like whispers on a Sunday morning.

My grandmother always baked her own bread and it was rare that one would ever find store bought bread in her pantry.  On the pantry shelves would be a variety of flavored breads and buns in various shapes and designs all to be arranged lovingly into baskets that would be used throughout the week in her kitchen.

My grandfather had a sweet tooth, so my grandmother would also bake a few treats that could be enjoyed with his morning coffee.

A Great Olive Oil

The kitchens in Tuscany remind me of my grandmother's kitchen in many ways - stocked with items made or grown on the farm or traded with neighbors nearby for a few precious items that are a necessity for the upcoming week's meal plan.

Always fresh and true to the very essence of the food that these products are made from. Pantry shelves filled with homemade jams, fruit, vegetables, syrups, olive oils and vinegars.

Pink Lemonades

In reminiscing about blissful days under the clear blue skies of summer at my grandparents summer cabin, I recalled how much my sister and I loved pink lemonade... I think we loved the color just as much as we loved the taste.  These miniature versions are made in old fashioned glass bottles with vintage looking bendable straws; they come in three flavors - Traditional Pink Lemonade, Pink Grapefruit Lemonade and Ruby Red Lemonade.

Canning in the Miniature Kitchen - Dill Pickles

Dill Pickle Spears

I love the crisp bite of a tangy dill pickle spear.  Who can have a BBQ without a jar of dills?

Three varieties of dill pickles can be found in the pantry at WindyPoint: whole, spears and a mixed vegetable variety...all three based on the jars that my grandmother's used to make and would store in their pantries.

The mixed pickles are inspired from the handwritten book of recipes that my maternal grandmother gave to me as a wedding gift  - she always included what was on hand fresh from her garden....cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, red onions, zucchini, cucumber, bell peppers, mushrooms and carrots.

Custom Order Luxury Flatware

A kitchen full of pretty things makes the task of preparing food all the more enjoyable.  Plating and presenting the food is made more inviting with the right decor to present along with it. This is a new line of Luxury Flatware that I have just designed for a custom order.  The customer was able to email me pictures of her existing dishes and tea sets, and I created these to add that extra touch of something in her cabinet.

The little teapot and flowered plate were made by Lory at  64tnt.

I love the kitchen...and cooking and serving in the kitchen is so much more enjoyable when you have beautiful flatware to brighten the table.  When I started collecting miniatures I began wondering how I could turn everyday little kitchen items into something really luxurious looking. I wanted to create something that I had never seen before in miniature.

This collection of Luxury Flatware is available in an array of color palettes and designs. The possible combinations are endless really. Some of the new lines include Grapefruit, Watermelon, Cappuccino and Caviar to name just a few.

Cafe Mocha
The Luxury Flatware is also available to be custom ordered in other colors and designs. Please contact me if you have a specific color or idea in mind; I would be happy to work with you and come up with something that is perfect for you.

The TeaHouse and Pantry

The Pantry Cupboard
Welcome to the TeaHouse and Pantry at Windy Point Miniatures.

I take inspiration from the things around me that I find beautiful - I love the idea of recreating in miniature things from my grandmother's pantry, or bringing to life in 1:12 the scent of lilacs while preparing lunch by the garden on an old farmhouse table. Whether it be the warm cinnamon buns my mom used to make when I was a child or the vintage chair that belonged to my grandmother, these things inspire me to create them as still life pieces in 1:12 scale.

If you see something that you like, please feel free to contact me as I do accept custom orders. My miniatures can be found on Etsy at WindyPointMiniatures (www.etsy.com/shop/WindyPointMiniatures)
